A growing urgent care veterinary practice in Newport News, VA is looking for a skilled Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their team. This practice provides after-hours care for both canine and feline patients, bridging the gap between general practice and emergency care. They offer a cost-effective solution to pet owners without the high fees associated with emergency clinics.

The clinic is designed with efficiency in mind, offering a single-doctor shift model for urgent cases like wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Equipped with a cloud-based EMR system , digital x-rays , and a complete suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment , the facility ensures high-quality care and streamlined workflows.

• Flexible Schedule : Veterinarians will benefit from a balanced work schedule, including swing and second shifts with no wellness visits, so you can focus on urgent care cases.
• No Abdominal Surgeries : The clinic does not perform abdominal surgeries, allowing veterinarians to concentrate on urgent care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate, relationship-based care to pets and their owners.
• Collaborate effectively with the clinical team and leadership to ensure high-quality care and a positive client experience.
• Build lasting relationships within the Newport News community.
• Contribute to the development and growth of support staff through the LevelUp training program.
• Manage a diverse caseload, including urgent care appointments and surgeries, during open hours.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program).
• Active veterinary license in Virginia (or the ability to obtain a license in the state).
