Description
Assists in providing resident food service by performing duties in food preparation, food service, cleaning and sanitizing equipment as assigned. Received direction from A.M. / P.M. Cooks.
1. Performs food preparation and food service duties following established procedures for safe and sanitary food handling.
2. Serves residents foods using proper exchanges and portions as defined on the menu.
3. Works on the dietary meal tray line as assigned. Sets up tray tickets, transports tray delivery carts to and from the dining rooms.
4. Performs daily, weekly, cleaning schedule duties adhering to all basic rules of good sanitation. Operates, cleans, and/or sanitizes all food service equipment and reports needed maintenance or repairs to the Supervisor.
5. Performs all aspects of dishwashing operations, cleans and mops floors, performs other cleaning duties as assigned or directed.
6. Assists with special function that requires dietary support and involvement.
7. Attends department meetings and in-service training sessions on a regular basis and assists with problem solving for the Dietary Department and the facility.
8. Responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic environment. Monitors for fire and safety hazards, identifies problem areas and participates in fire and disaster drills.
9. Responsible for assisting in monitoring the surveillance system and participation in the facility Infection Control program.
10. Actively cooperates in preventing injuries to self and others by using department safety procedures.
11. Responsible for operating dishwashing and food service equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
12. Responsible for following principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
13. Follows proper preparation of modified diets and proper serving sizes and techniques.
14. Maintains effective working relationships with other employees, the residents and the public.
15. Performs related duties as assigned or directed.
