Destination Arts is Northwest Guilford County’s premier performing arts studio with 2 campus locations in Oak Ridge & Summerfield, NC. Our mission is to create a community where children can discover a passion for the performing arts from professional and motivated staff while instilling the principles of exploration, self-expression and confidence in a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
Purpose of Role
Destination Arts is looking for a part-time, eager and energetic customer care/front desk attendant with a positive attitude that loves making people happy and providing a professional experience. This person will work between our 2 campuses (Oak Ridge and Summerfield - about 15 mins apart) 3 afternoons a week between the hours of 3 and 9pm. Roughly 8-10 hours weekly.
In This Role You Will:
- Manage afternoon/evening operations of the studio – including phone calls and direct communication with families
- Report directly to our Studio Manager
- Take inventory of supplies
- Provide high-level customer service and exceptional hospitality to DAC clients to proactively address, handle and rectify client and team questions and concerns
- Maintain DAC’s distinct culture and community
- Receive, deliver and act on feedback
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Coordinate and aid in executing studio events
- Hold students and parents accountable to all rules and regulations
- Greet parents and students warmly and professionally
- Open and/or close the studio at specific times
- Assure studio space and waiting areas maintain a clean and orderly appearance
Minimum Qualifications for Consideration
- Customer service and/or dance studio experience holds more weight than a degree
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to set clear expectations and give/receive feedback clearly and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Desire to provide outstanding customer experiences
- Ability to solve problems and move forward without having all the answers
- An enthusiastic and approachable personality with the ability to interact and work with kids
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including after-school hours and evenings and sometimes (rarely) weekends (during recitals, etc.)
Considerations for Ideal Candidate Details
- Studio/retail management experience is a plus
- Passionate about children and the arts
- A connector and communicator – willing to strike up conversation with anyone and everyone
- Tech and social media savvy, both personally and professionally. Someone that loves to snap pics and videos and create reels for our social media would be an added plus!
Part time – Approximately 8-10 hours per week (with potential to expand and grow) beginning with M-Th afternoon/evening hours.
Rate – TBD based on experience
Our studio family is growing quickly and we’re looking for long term team members to grow with us. The role is part time but can quickly move to full time hours for the right person. Opportunities for growth are available depending on performance and results.
