What are the responsibilities and job description for the Backwaiter position at Destination Hospitality Restaurant Group?

Backwaiters offer direct support to the service team by maintaining cleanliness and attention to detail in our dining rooms, bars, and lounges. Backwaiters interact with guests and team members in a helpful, positive, and clear way at all times. All staff must be charismatic, courteous, and efficient.
DUTIES:
- Provide genuine hospitality with heart and style.
- Report to work on time, in clean uniform on scheduled days with proper tools to perform required duties.
- Keep the service station clean and orderly at all times.
- Keep the front of house clean and in good order, including sweeping around tables and chairs between seatings.
- Always keep the dining room in immaculate condition.
- Continuously move around the restaurant looking for things to attend to. Avoid standing still.
- Always listen for “HANDS”. Everyone is responsible to help run hot food to the guest.
- Assist the servers and bartenders in completing their duties.
- Watch for eye contact from servers needing help clearing tables. Clear tables as a team.
- Maintain awareness of guest body language and be attentive to guest needs.
- Be aware of guests moving through the restaurant and allow the guest the right of way.
- Assist with setting up the dining room and lounge.
- Water tables before or at arrival, ensure water is topped up periodically.
- Clear tables after each course and at the end of the meal. Stack plates properly. Use trays to clear tables after guest departs.
- Assist with marking tables.
- Fully clean and sanitize tables and chairs between seatings.
- Reset tables with proper table settings for the next guests.
- Remove all trash and recycling from the restaurant.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Responsible for notifying management of any shift where overtime transpires.
- Maintain TIPS certification.
- Assist team with polishing, linen folding, silverware rolling, and other running side work.
- Perform any and all duties and responsibilities as assigned.
COMPENSATION
Wage. $9.54/hr plus 1.5-2% of restaurant daily sales.
