We are seeking a veterinary assistant to join the Nebel Street family! We are a busy 2 doctor general practice, that has been in practice for 25 years. We take pride in following the gold standard of care for our patients and our great work culture.

The right candidate must be a self-motivated team player, who is attentive to detail, effective at oral and written communication, and demonstrates strong technical skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITES :

• Ensuring that clients and pets feel welcome and comfortable.
• Assisting veterinarians to provide compassionate, top tier care.
• Assisting veterinarians with appointments.
• Client communication and education.
• Assisting with surgery and dental procedures.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Filling prescriptions as directed by a veterinarian.
• Phlebotomy and intravenous catheter placement.
• Administering vaccines and other injections as directed by a veterinarian.
• Intake and discharge of hospitalized patients.
• Taking radiographs as directed by a veterinarian.
• Performing various laboratory tests in house and sending labs out to reference laboratories.
• Keeping our facility clean, stocked, and well maintained.
• Opening / Closing procedures of the hospital.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

PAY : $18-22 / HR

JOB TYPE : Full-time (40hrs / week)

SCHEDULE : We are currently in need of someone available to work Monday-Friday : a combination of morning (7am-3pm) and evening (11am-7pm) shifts or strictly evening shifts (11am-7pm). Must be available to work the occasional Saturday (8am-2pm).
