Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medsurg/Telemetry Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Telemetry Nurse plays a crucial role in monitoring patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. This position requires a strong understanding of telemetry monitoring, as well as the ability to respond effectively to changes in patients' conditions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.
Duties
- Monitor patients’ heart rates, rhythms, and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
- Assess patients’ conditions and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards and sterile processing protocols.
- Assist with catheter care, including insertion and maintenance as needed.
- Utilize knowledge of geriatrics, sonography, DME (Durable Medical Equipment), CT (Computed Tomography), and neonatal ventilator management when applicable.
Requirements
- Current nursing license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in telemetry nursing or critical care preferred.
- Strong understanding of cardiac monitoring techniques and infection control standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health coaching principles is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques is advantageous.
