Job Description
DNV Maritime Region Americas is seeking a Ship Surveyor to join our New Orleans Fleet-In-Service (FIS) Station.
As a "Fleet in Service" Ship Surveyor you will be part of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors at the New Orleans FIS Station, serving ports in Texas, Louisiana, and offshore locations. You may also be required to support other ports and shipyards within Region Americas as needed. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will conduct surveys, and inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and contributing to the safety and operational excellence of the maritime industry.

T his role will report to the Station Manager and be based in our DNV office in New Orleans, Louisiana.
What You'll Do
- Attend vessels for surveys,
- Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the Rules, Regulations, Instructions, Guidelines, and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management
- Work on-site surveys during dry-docking and in-service
- Work on major vessel conversions, alterations, or any technical matters involving all types of vessels
- Support other class activities when necessary
- Maintain the confidentiality of Clients' business, processes, designs, developments, and documentation at all times
- Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization
- Exhibit customer-oriented focus through promoting DNV, and by acting as a technical resource and support for customers
- Support in technical service management to local client
- Additional responsibilities may be required as needed
