As a Solar Material Handler, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all necessary solar components and equipment are properly received, organized, and distributed to job sites. Your responsibilities will directly impact the efficiency of solar installation teams by ensuring they have the right materials when and where they need them.
- Key Duties:
- Receiving & Inspection: Accept and inspect incoming deliveries of solar panels, racking, inverters, and other installation materials to verify quality and accuracy.
- Inventory Management: Track, organize, and maintain accurate records of warehouse stock, ensuring materials are properly labeled and stored.
- Material Staging & Order Fulfillment: Review job orders, accurately pull required materials, and prepare them for crew pick-up or job site delivery.
- Loading & Unloading: Safely load and unload solar materials from trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move and organize materials efficiently.
- Warehouse Organization & Maintenance: Keep the storage area clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards.
- Collaboration with Installation Teams: Communicate with crew leads and project managers to ensure all materials are available and ready for scheduled jobs.
- Restocking & Reordering: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking to prevent material shortages and project delays.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in material handling, preferably in the solar or construction industry
- Familiarity with solar components and installation materials is a plus
- Ability to use industrial equipment and warehouse management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy solar equipment
- Availability to work overtime as needed
