Detail Design Inc was founded in 1979 as a specialty engineering firm focused on delivering technically sound solutions for offshore oil and gas operations. Located in the Willowbrook area, the company has grown to include full-service fabrication, assembly, and testing at our facility. While remaining primarily an off-shore oil & gas engineering company, Detail Design has diversified the work that it’s pursuing to include many unique projects and challenges ranging from offshore wind to LNG tank fabrication and more.

Project Manager, (MANUFACTURING)

As a member of the Detail Design engineering team, you will work with a small team of engineers and Project Managers to build/ manufacture assets in accordance with project drawings and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Technical Performance Expectations are as follows:

· Knowledge and consistent application of DDI workmanship policies. Capability to learn Products and Processes aka “Product Knowledge”.

· Capability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements as well as recognize the necessity for process drawings and or test tooling, and coordinate with engineering to meet the necessary demands.

· Generate schedules for projects and coordinate schedule updates as the job progresses.

· Capability to input Sales Order, Product, Bill of Material (BOM), and Routing data correctly with minimal to no errors.

· Capability to organize, schedule and generate in house Shop Work Orders and help with their execution by familiarizing oneself with the demands of the project they are coordinating, and working with shop supervisors to maximize efficiency of work flow.

· Coordinate efforts between internal departments and customers to achieve approval of third party inspectors.

· Submit QA Documentation to meet project requirements and assist in obtaining data from vendors where discrepancies might occur.

· Capability to complete projects to consume inventory and cost accurately while producing minimal debris. Any sweep up of debris shall be done prior to completion of the project.

· Capability to identify nonconformance and coordinate resolution with engineering and quality control.

· Capability to create and/or implement preventative action measures where reoccurring nonconformance may occur.

· SECONDARY JOB FUNCTION -- Capability to find and select outside vendors for project tasks and effectively communicate production goals/schedules to produce the required quality and timely result.

· SECONDARY JOB FUNCTION -- Capability to generate subcontract orders and associated Purchase Orders with outside vendors, monitor their progress, and approve invoicing. Subcontract orders require correct pricing, accurate scheduling and include all of the necessary data vendors/quality control need to meet the requirements of the Purchase Order with regards to both manufacturing and documentation.

· Take overall responsibility for profitability of projects assigned.

· Take overall responsibility for on time delivery of projects assigned.

· Take overall responsibility for client satisfaction on projects assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read and understand BOM's, project specifications
• Ability to professionally work with engineers, welders, assembly technicians

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience working with weldments, machined parts, coatings

Additional Requirements

• Infrequent travel may be required
• Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are not generally required to perform the functions of this position

Pay Range

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Your actual level and compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage. You may also accrue 2 weeks of paid vacation & will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees are eligible for 10 days of sick leave per year.
