JOB SUMMARY: Primary responsibilities include supporting accounting functions to ensure compliance with Federal and State finance/accounting laws. Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include but are not limited to:
- Ability to navigate Epicor (manufacturing ERP system) to set master controls, create SOPs, manage JEs, create financial reporting, bank rec, and other
- Ability to use Epicor’s integrated BI tool to generate reporting and KPIs for Accounting and other functional groups
- Knowledge of how best to manage inventory and understand costs
- Comfortable with the manufacturing process and transformation of inventory
- Experience with processing and managing AR, AP, and Payroll
- Manage month end close process and generation of sub-ledgers
- Experience with creating and monitoring financial budget
- Experience with managing bank exams
- Experience with managing financial audits
- Completes time-sensitive tasks by the due date. Communicates proactively if the deadline is not met or delayed.
- Assigns job responsibilities and provides appropriate training to the finance team.
- Develops daily activity records and supports development and maintenance of finance department SOP development for cross-training to ensure business continuity.
- Performs accounting functions; including reconciliation and auditing of payroll, accounts payables and receivables, general ledger, fixed assets, taxes, financial reporting, end-of-month closing activities, annual budgeting, financial planning, and preparation of other Federal and state financial reports to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Escalates variances, concerns, and opportunities.
- Ensures concerns related to accounts receivables/payables, payroll, general ledger, inventory, sales, pricing, and cost accounting, are resolved.
- Supports development and management of cost accounting and finance systems.
- Development of financial key performance indicators (KPIs) for detailed monthly variance analyses of actual results vs. plan, including raw material, labor, and standard manufacturing cost variances.
- Prepares timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other reports.
- In conjunction with Controller, analyzes financial reports and assists in the interpretation of financial data and identification of ways to increase profitability and improve expense control and asset utilization.
- Performs post-product cost analysis to validate cost and profitability.
- Supports preparation of AOP sales forecast and budget proposals in conjunction with Marketing, Sales, and CEO. Manages approved AOP sales forecasts and budgets.
- Ensures maintenance of Accounting Data Structures (pricing, commissions, inventory, expense, assets, projects, BOM). Reviews and approves all journal entries.
- Verifies sub-ledger assets to general ledger are reconciled.
- Fill Rate Evaluation and Maintenance; evaluate fill rate, order policy, and lead time processes; updates as needed with input from customer service, marketing, sales, and production and is responsible for tracking and accurately valuing inventory. Escalates discrepancies and proposed resolutions for consideration.
- Updates and consolidates labor costs and oversees ABC stratification process.
- Supports Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system in collaboration with production, purchasing, and marketing for front-end 4-month forecast.
- Proposes proforma financial objectives and adjustments to the proforma as needed.
- Supports preparation of organizational documents for annual budget submission to include capital, wage, benefits, departmental and adjusted budgets, and updates financial proformas with actuals.
- Supports the development and maintenance of financial measurements for sales growth, fill rate and profit margin, labor standards, and other costs.
- Follows established procedures and/or guidelines in performing essential job functions to comply with all company policies and applicable legal requirements.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 2-3 years of work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience in the development and analysis of corporate finance, financial planning, cost accounting and cost standards in a manufacturing environment. MBA, CPA/CMA preferred.
- Knowledge of and skill in using accounting-related computer programs and software.
- Skill in applying knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial data and ability to maintain records, and documents and compile and organize reports accurately.
- Initiative and the organizational ability for effective time management to meet deadlines.
- Skills in effectively listening and communicating tactfully verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
- Be willing to work weekends and extended hours as required.
