The Detroit Athletic Club is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Hospitality Management Extern to join our team. This externship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on leadership experience in multiple departments within the Club including Front Office Operations, Membership, Accounting, Human Resources, and Food & Beverage.
Responsibilities:
- Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of hospitality management, including front office operations, membership, accounting, human resources, and food and beverage management.
- Assist with daily administrative tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting.
- Shadow managers and supervisors to learn about leadership, team management, and decision-making in a hospitality setting.
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and special projects to broaden your understanding of hospitality management practices.
- Recently obtained Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or similar.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with event management software/tools.
- Creative mindset with a passion for excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Prior experience in hospitality or related field is a plus but not required.
