What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Worker/Delivery Route Driver position at Detroit Cutlery?
We are looking for a self-motivated hardworking individual to fill a position as a Warehouse Worker/Delivery Route Driver with our company. Primary position will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, receiving inventory within the warehouse working closely with the warehouse controller. Secondary position will be required to Deliver Routes for Drivers if it is a holiday week, drivers sick, on vacation, or on a leave of absence. Deliver any misc... deliveries that need to go out throughout the week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep Warehouse fully stocked with inventory items (not overstocked)
- Keep all stock accessible, labeled properly and organized throughout warehouse
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment within the warehouse
- Operate forklift in a safe an effective manner
- Load or unload any incoming or outgoing shipments
- Maintain positive and effective relationship with anyone encountered related to the job. (Customers, truck drivers, other employees, etc...)
- Work with front office to prepare any will-call orders for customers
- Help pull orders for routes as needed
- Record and Report to Supervisor when items on shipments are damaged or missing
- Deliver select routes during holiday weeks
- Deliver routes for drivers if they are sick, on vacation, on leave of absence.
- Deliver misc... runs as they come in throughout the week as needed.

- Drivers Responsibilities
- Maintaining positive and effective relationships with customers
- Maintain and update any customer orders and sales
- Maintain sales to existing and potential new customers
- Prepare and maintain accurate invoices and manifests
- Maintain an accurate knife order for customer(s)
- Keeping routes in order and having a product list available for current customers
- Maintain a clean vehicle
- Prepare weekly mileage/gas reports
- Maintain route vehicle maintenance records
- Load and unload truck for designated deliveries
Qualifications:
- Must have a Valid Driver's License (Do NOT need a CDL for this position Do need a chauffeurs license)
- Clean driving record - Company may require a MVR (motor vehicle record) if hired for the position which will be reimbursed with receipt.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic math skills
- Strong written and oral skills
- Good navigational skills
- Know how to properly deal with different situations.
- Must have good organizational skills to keep all paperwork updated
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to deliver an average of 35-50 stops per day, based on mileage of routes
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at once and prioritize by importance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
