Description
The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) will facilitate workforce development-focused services from a trauma-informed, healing centered and restorative engagement perspective for adults program participants. The BHS will lend to various programmatic and operational functions, with insights gained from analyzing a participant’s Individual Service Strategy, as well as other assessments and intake information.
The BHS is responsible for assisting with the implementation of wrap-around services designed to support adults throughout the duration of their active participation, as well as during a 12-month follow-up period. The BHS will assist in determining the appropriateness of program support and interventions that maximize positive adult outcomes and will identify barriers that may negatively impact regular attendance, active participation, and/or program completion.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote an environment of healing and support while assisting adults navigate mental and behavioral barriers that inhibit identified outcomes, performance and/or program goals;
- Ensure integrity of information sharing by maintaining proper and confidential channels of communication;
- Organize and facilitate comprehensive guidance and counseling group and individual services, as necessary;
- Assist participants in developing an ecosystem of trusted stakeholders to assist with areas of need, making adequate referrals to professional services as needed;
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with adults in crisis and conflict, including those facing homelessness, financial challenges, mental illness and/or chemical dependency;
- Ability to provide follow-up and wrap-around support with minimal supervision;
- Knowledge of human behavior and development related to facilitation practices and case management;
- Experience identifying supportive services resources based on participant need;
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of clients as well as client information;

- Must be comfortable with and able to adapt to changing demands; and
- Must be discrete and professional, particularly when handling confidential information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree preferred in social work, behavioral science, comprehensive counseling or related field;
- Professional Counselor License
- At least five (5) years of related professional experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required;
- At least three (3) years of experience in a role that focused on trauma-informed care, human-centered restorative practices, and resilience building is required;
- Relevant experience working in a nonprofit, education or community-based organization is preferred; and
- Experience with workforce initiatives or other social service programs, and general knowledge of workforce trends is highly desirable.

Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
