Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Bilingual Communications Professional to lead and implement strategic communication efforts in both English and Spanish. The ideal candidate will have expertise in content creation, social media management, public relations, and community engagement. This role is integral to advancing our mission by effectively reaching and connecting with diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
Communications & Content Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to engage local and broader audiences.
- Create compelling content for various platforms, including the website, social media, newsletters, and press releases, in both English and Spanish.
- Translate written materials such as documents, presentations, and marketing materials, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.
Public Relations & Media Outreach
Cultivate relationships with media outlets, including ethnic and local press, to enhance visibility and coverage.Pitch stories, draft press releases, and coordinate media opportunities to promote DHDC's programs and initiatives.Social Media & Digital Marketing
Manage DHDC's social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), including content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and responding to engagement.Collaborate with the development team to execute strategic social media campaigns.Monitor and analyze digital engagement metrics to refine strategies and maximize impact.Copywriting & Brand Messaging
Draft, proofread, and distribute newsletters, e-blasts, and social media content.Develop copy for printed materials such as brochures, programs, and media kits.Incorporate storytelling elements to enhance audience engagement.Event & Community Engagement
Assist in marketing efforts for events, including day-of event support.Represent DHDC at community events to strengthen relationships and visibility.Collaboration & Internal Communications
Work cross-functionally with the development, operations, and finance teams to align communication efforts with organizational goals.Coordinate with vendors and contractors for marketing materials as needed.Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in communications, marketing, and language accessibility.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications , Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required .Minimum of 5 years of experience in a communications, marketing, or public relations role, preferably in a nonprofit or community-focused organization.Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences and platforms.Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.Experience with email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact), graphic design software (e.g., Canva), and website platforms (e.g., WordPress).Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Passion for community engagement and advocacy, with an appreciation for the arts being a plus.Compensation & Benefits
