GENERAL SUMMARYESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under the guidance of the Director of Membership, Annual Giving, and Events the Membership Officer is responsible for all membership and Associate programs and events that support the fundraising initiatives of the Development department and the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the DIA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Meet or exceed the annual membership programs fundraising (3 million annually for FY24-25) and household number goals.

Manage a portfolio of members including stewardship, soliciting, and moves management.

Manage 14,000 to 25,000 Member households annually through programming, membership benefits, and renewal activities.

Oversee all renewal, retention and acquisition activities including direct mail and digital communications.

Develop strategy, coordinate and manage multiple concurrent membership programs and events of various sizes with numerous priorities and deadlines.

Create, organize, and maintain the production calendar for all membership and Associate program activities in partnership with the Director of Membership, Annual Giving, and Events.

Oversee and manage the membership program annual budget and complete projects and tasks within budget.

Produce reports to evaluate and analyze the key performance indicators of the membership program.

Manage development, production, and distribution of membership brochures and other promotional materials, such as displays, flyers, letters, and scripts.

Coordinate the fulfillment of premiums to our members using direct mail, volunteer services or Visitor Experience team members.

Serve as an Auxiliary Liaison for at least one Auxiliary group.

Generate and develop membership mailing lists for various solicitations, event invitations, programing and marketing activities in the donor management software (Raiser’s Edge).

Support fundraising activities such as attending donor recognition, donor cultivation, and signature fundraising events.

Apply DIA values to interactions to support a culture of belonging among internal and external stakeholders.

Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Seven (7) years of progressive experience in non-profit membership programming and fundraising. Knowledge of development telemarketing preferred. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Demonstrated organizational skills to plan, manage, prioritize, and complete multiple on-going projects to meet deadlines and goals.

Demonstrated collaboration skills to work across departments and divisions internally and with diverse stakeholders externally.

Experience with donor management software, Raiser’s Edge preferred.

Demonstrated editorial and print production experience.

Demonstrated experience cultivating and stewarding donor relationships to build a culture of giving and securing gifts.

Demonstrated ability to share complex information, ideas, and instructions clearly, effectively, and professionally to diverse audiences through talking or writing.

Ability to work regular weekend and evening hours for special events.

Must be proficient in the latest version of Office 365.

Must have proficiency in the use of remote work technology such as scheduling with, connecting to, and using digital collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams.

Demonstrated organizational skills to plan, manage, prioritize, and complete multiple on-going projects to meet deadlines and goals.

Must be able to establish and maintain professional, productive, and courteous interactions that promote positive teamwork. This encompasses going beyond giving and receiving instructions and includes but is not limited to (a) performing work activities requiring interacting or speaking with others; and (b) responding appropriately to constructive feedback or suggestions for improvement from a supervisor.
