SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Detroit Lions are looking for a seasonal associate to join their Events Department. The Event Associate is responsible for supporting the Events Department with services directly relating to stadium events. Work will include coordinating event services with other departments: catering, broadcasting, facility services, housekeeping, marketing, merchandise, operations, parking, partnerships, premium sales, security, ticketing, etc. Work may be reviewed through oral feedback, throughout meetings and by evidence of event client and team member satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Events Associate position will have responsibilities, including but not limited to, the following:
- Assist the event leads on assigned events to work directly with the client (pre-determined by employer) and delegate all client needs to the appropriate departments as necessary.
- Assist the Ticketing Department and other departments in putting on various events for members.
- Event signage – Ensure all necessary signage is created and displayed for all major events to accommodate guests.
- Assist with set up and management of 50/50 raffle: stocking kiosks throughout the stadium prior to game day, tracking inventory on all 50/50 raffle supplies, ensuring all equipment is charged and ready for each game, etc.
- Represent and promote the bowl game at all major events, including Detroit Lions home gameday activations.
- Take lead on one or more bowl game travel party/ancillary events.
- Support the bowl game team band arrangements: practices, travel arrangements, catering needs, game logistics, signage, etc.
- Assist with Bowl Kick Off Party event.
- Support logistics for the bowl game community outreach programs and Extra Yard for Teachers initiative.
- Assist with bowl game team hospitality and gift distribution.
- Organize and inventory bowl game merchandise and gifts.
- Secure and coordinate late-night snacks for bowl game teams, including trade value, logistics, and delivery to hotels.
- Coordinate bowl game team snack bags from start to finish—order, payment, creation, and distribution.
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support stadium event operations for large scale stadium events, including but not limited to annual events, gamedays, concerts, dirt shows, etc.
- Ensure the Ford Field Event website is updated with all necessary and current event information: ticket details, parking/traffic updates, entrances, etc.
- Analyze post event feedback from each event and determine which operational items can be performed more efficiently in the future.
- Assist with daily office duties and operational needs of the Events department, including but not limited to making copies, filing, creation and hanging of event signage, and phone/email correspondence.
- Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands
- Will keep appropriate information confidential
- Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the
objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated
into the position description if they are ongoing.

- Ability to work with a flexible schedule in order to be available for scheduled events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Event Management, Marketing or related field preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays required.
- Prior event management experience required
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, including Outlook, and Adobe Illustrator)
- This position is in-person at Ford Field.
