The Detroit Lions are looking to add Training Camp Assistants to the team for the Summer. This short-term, temporary position is your opportunity to contribute to the overall Lions Training Camp Fan Experience. You will enhance and contribute to fan interaction, sponsor activation and the overall event execution. This position is based in Allen Park at the Meijer Performance Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Training Camp Assistant position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:
- Set-up event equipment including tables, chairs, bike rack, other event assets
- Work to assemble Detroit Lions and partner branding and signage throughout the footprint
- Assist with oversight on sponsor activations and external vendors
- Coordinate guest list and experience for premium hospitality tents
- Prep event assets including credentials, lanyards, and ticketing-related programs
- Distribute player roster cards and giveaways for all guests
- Assist with all youth-driven initiatives including youth football and the Detroit Lions Cub Club
- Monitor event ingress and egress, and guest viewing locations
- Execute post-practice player autograph sessions
- Support Game and Event Presentation Manager with daily fan experience programming
- Assist Marketing Events Coordinator with oversight of the event promo team staff
- This position requires manual labor during the setup and prep for Training Camp along with the tear down following the conclusion of practices
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands, including being available to work a non-standard schedule in support of football operations, events, and other Marketing activities, including holidays and weekends as needed.
- Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to work in a timely and productive manner
- Communicates effectively with team members

- Complete other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Sports Management or related fields
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills required
- Must be able to multi-task
- Professionalism, punctuality, and a “can do” attitude required
- Must be able to work outdoors for entire shift in varying weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50-60 pounds
- Must be able to provide own means of transportation and housing for the duration of the position
