Job Overview
The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a skilled Clinical Respiratory Specialist to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of the respiratory care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures and diagnostic tests for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to develop optimal cardiopulmonary care plans.
- Perform patient assessments, evaluate therapy effectiveness, and determine which respiratory care activities can be delegated to other team members.
- Instruct employees and students in respiratory care principles and practices, evaluating their competence in designated procedures/tasks.
- May serve as an in-charge therapist and preceptor, as requested.
Qualifications
Requirements include:
- Graduation from an AMA/CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
- Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- BCLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
- Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
