The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide direct patient care and support our rehabilitation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the general supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, provide direct patient care using standard physical therapy procedures.
- Instruct patients and family members on therapeutic exercises, transfers, and gait training.
- Assist with patient evaluation, assessing functional skills and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Administer modality treatments, such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation, as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
- One year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in physical therapy or a related field.
- Current license to practice as a PTA in the state of Michigan.
