Job Overview
The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional cardiopulmonary care services.
This role involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement optimal cardiopulmonary care plans for patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures and diagnostic tests for patients with respiratory abnormalities.
- Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy and determine which respiratory care activities can be delegated to other care team members.
- Instruct employees and students in the principles and practices of designated respiratory care procedures/tasks and evaluate their competence.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a strong foundation in respiratory care principles and practices. A minimum of an Associate's degree in Science, Allied Health or equivalent, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience, is required.
Candidates must also hold registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
BCLS certification is required, with ACLS certification preferred.
