The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Hamtramck, Michigan.
As an integral part of our Radiology Department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic Ultrasound exams using advanced imaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identity and review medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure.
- Conduct thorough interviews with patients to obtain and update medical history, assess risk factors, and explain procedures.
- Set up equipment, acquire images, and make initial observations, documenting exceptions from established protocols.
- Communicate data to radiologists, recognize medical emergencies, and provide post-care instructions to patients.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including process improvement, patient satisfaction, and education of residents and new employees.
Qualifications:
- Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Sonography (S).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required within the orientation period.
- Registration in specialty within 12 months of employment.
