Salary: $85,513 - $107,154

Position Summary

We are seeking a Program Supervisor of Assessments to join the Assessments team. This team works directly with schools and District teams to execute on a comprehensive assessment program of State and local assessments that allow us to assess students’ progress toward learning outcomes aligned to grade-level standards

As a significant member of the Assessments team, the Program Supervisor of Assessments is responsible for leading the planning and coordination of all school-facing supports related to our various assessment programs and ensuring consistent, quality assessment administrations across all schools. The Program Supervisor maintains an annual scope and sequence of assessment coordinator trainings and oversees the development and delivery of quality aligned content; develops assessment-related resources and communications; and manages support systems for school-based staff including test plan reviews, day-to-day logistics during assessment windows, and post-assessment activities.

The Program Supervisor of Assessment also leads coordination across departments and teams to ensure schools receive timely, differentiated supports when planning and administering state and local assessments. Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or technical or equivalent experience in education. Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Essential Experiences And Competencies

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience coordinating the administration of large-scale assessments, preferably across multiple schools simultaneously or in a large district setting
  • Strong professional development skills, including the facilitation of in-person sessions and the creation of online training materials
  • Strong grasp of accommodations, accessibility features, and administrative considerations available to exceptional student groups
  • Working knowledge of state data and accountability systems as well as calculation methodologies/business rules for common assessment metrics
  • Ability to translate Department and District goals into everyday work activities and consistently implement District accountability policies and procedures
  • Strong written and oral communication skills that enable you to work with various stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, and students and families
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to persevere through challenges and layered priorities to ensure success of projects, including meeting expectations for work quality, timeliness, and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading the intentional use of student assessment data to inform instructional decision-making and provide equitable learning opportunities for all children
  • Experience in the use and support of state and other assessment systems, including the OEAA Secure Site, DRC eDirect, College Board Reporting and SSD Online, MyNAEP/NAEP Access, iReady, and Performance Matters
  • Expertise and experience working in an urban public school district is a plus

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate across departments and teams to ensure alignment of the District’s assessment and instructional strategies as well as support the adoption of quality assessments and practices.
  • Lead school-facing supports for summative assessments, which includes, developing and executing summative assessment trainings for school staff, developing assessment-related resources and communications, managing support systems for schools, and overseeing day-to-day logistics during assessment windows and post-assessment activities.
  • Design and deliver high quality training aligned to the District’s vision of Adult Learning Facilitation on critical testing information in a variety of formats to support users’ learning experience including webinars, online, and in-person training events; develop standard, repeatable modules and customized trainings to address specific needs.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify needs and adapt training to various levels of customization while maintaining consistent messaging.
  • Create, maintain, and update communications for staff regarding assessment administration processes including test plan development, ordering and return logistics, monitoring, and assessment data use.
  • Work closely with school and department staff to develop a deep understanding of assessment implementation successes and challenges.
  • Design and lead a technical support strategy for all assessment inquiries and support requests, including office hours, differentiated supports, and inquiries that come to the Assessment team email inbox.
  • Manage portfolio of school-facing resources specific to assessment platforms, tasks, and support tools ensuring accurate, accessible, and timely access.
  • Establish a comprehensive test plan review process, including training for all school assessment teams on the development and submission of quality plans, coordinating a team of reviewers to evaluate test plans and provide feedback, and ensuring schools adhere to final, approved plans.
  • Demonstrate an effective approach to teambuilding, including clarity of purpose and shared responsibility.
  • Build effective relationships with staff members to implement district strategic plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Assessments.
