Summary:
We are seeking an energetic, creative, and enthusiastic individual to bring our mascot character to life. As a Mascot Performer, you will entertain and engage with audiences, promote our brand, and create memorable experiences at events, appearances, and promotional activities. This role requires a mix of performance talent, customer interaction, and physical stamina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform as the Detroit Tigers mascot, embodying the character’s personality and charm.
- Interact with audiences of all ages to create fun, memorable experiences.
- Pose for photos, dance, and participate in promotional events and activities.
- Represent the brand positively and professionally at all times.
- Collaborate with event organizers, marketing teams, and other performers to enhance engagement.
- Maintain the mascot costume, ensuring it is clean, presentable, and in excellent condition.
- Manage safety and comfort while performing, adhering to event and company guidelines.
- Program Management:
- Develop and maintain the mascot program strategy in alignment with marketing and community engagement goals.
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and storage of mascot costumes.
- Recruitment and Training:
- Identify and hire performers to represent the mascot.
- Train performers on behavior, movements, and engagement strategies to reflect the brand’s personality.
- Ensure performers adhere to safety and professionalism standards.
- Event Coordination:
- Schedule and coordinate mascot appearances for events, including community engagements, promotional campaigns, and media opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event organizers regarding mascot appearances.
- Monitor and evaluate performance quality at events.
- Brand Representation:
- Ensure the mascot aligns with the company’s image and branding guidelines.
- Develop mascot performance scripts and routines for various events.
- Act as an ambassador to maintain positive relationships with the community and stakeholders.
- Logistics and Operations:
- Manage the mascot program’s budget, including performer salaries, costume upkeep, and travel expenses.
- Handle transportation, dressing areas, and logistical needs for the mascot and performers during events.
- Address any technical or operational issues related to costume maintenance or event logistics.
- Health and Safety:
- Enforce guidelines to ensure the physical safety of mascot performers.
- Provide training on handling extreme weather conditions, crowd interactions, and emergency protocols.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree required in performance or other related area
- High energy, creativity, and an outgoing personality.
- Strong non-verbal communication skills and the ability to convey emotions through body language.
- Physically fit with the ability to endure extended periods in costume under varying conditions.
- Previous experience in performing, acting, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation to event locations.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Dance, acrobatics, or other performance abilities.
