What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strength & Conditioning Assistant - Lakeland, FL position at Detroit Tigers?
Key Responsibilities:
The Detroit Tigers are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach during the 2025 Florida Complex League season. The position will be based in Lakeland, Florida at the Detroit Tigers Spring Training Complex.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with daily implementation of the Detroit Tigers Strength and Conditioning Program
- Leading/supervising team Warm-ups, Strength Training sessions, and Conditioning sessions
- Assisting Strength and Medical staffs with implementation of rehab programs for injured athletes
- · Performing daily facility maintenance and cleaning
- Assisting with data entry and utilization of Sport Science Technology
- Travel with the team for games
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
- CSCS Certified through NSCA
- First Aid/CPR Certified
- Ability to relocate to Lakeland for duration of position (Approximately May 1 – September 1) and work full-time hours
- Desire to work in field of Strength and Conditioning, preferably in Professional Baseball
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working with college or professional baseball players
- Experience working with Sport Science Technology including Catapult, ForceDecks, Gymaware, etc.
- Bilingual (Spanish)
