Key Responsibilities
- Receive, enter and file customers' Purchase Orders, if not processed via EDI
- Track receiving reports daily
- Receive job jacket following the checking process Pull Purchase Order and match to vendor's packing list
- Resolve vendor OS&D'S Identified by checking (if required) in cooperation with the internal and/or external customer
- Send job out for re-check, if required
- Coordinate hazardous material requirements, if applicable
- Prepare and issue material receipt, including entry of items/quantities received
- Release to Packing including all pertinent packing instructions and shipping details
- Verify in the system when all packing functions have been completed
- Print the export Packing List, Release to Deliver and Invoice.
- Distribute documents to appropriate Forwarder/Customer
- Prepare file for shipping
- Maintain telephone, fax and e-mail communications with external and internal customers
- Attend meetings with external and internal customers
- Coordinate packing requirements with internal and external customers as required
- Report any unusual issues regarding shipments to management
- Ensure proper maintenance of packing records
- Perform other functions as assigned by management
- Adhere to all company policies in areas of Compliance,
- HSSE&Q, Code of Ethics and Compliance, Employee Handbook
- Willingness to continually improve the quality of documents and presentations
- Understanding of company strategy and products
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- At least 1 to 3 years’ experience in export/import freight forwarding
- Must have previous experience receiving incoming shipments and processing
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work on different project teams (i.e. export and import sea, air and road freight forwarding activities)
- Good communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills required
- Possess strong teamwork attitude
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two – three years related experience and/or training
