Overview
Deutsche Bank has set for itself ambitious goals in the areas of Sustainable Finance, ESG Risk Mitigation as well as Corporate Sustainability.
As Climate Change throws new Challenges and opportunities, Bank has set out to invest in developing a Sustainability Technology Platform, Sustainability data products and various sustainability applications which will aid Bank’s goals.
As part of this initiative, we are building an exciting global team of technologists who are passionate about Climate Change, want to contribute to greater good leveraging their Technology Skillset in Java, Python based Microservices deployed on Cloud / Hybrid Architecture.
As part of this Role, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java/SpringBoot & Python Backend Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining Application Programming Interface First Workflows and Application Backends, that empower business users across the Bank to submit, assess and report Sustainable Finance Reviews of Deals and Data Products.

What You’ll Do
- Partner with product development group and other business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical deliverables
- Implement robust security measures to ensure data access control and compliance with regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, optimizing performance for efficient data retrieval
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding best practices and documentation standards
Skills You’ll Need
- Experience as a Java/SpringBoot and Python Developer with a deep understanding of backend development
- Proficiency in technologies such as REST, GraphQL, JBPM, SpringBoot, Java, JMS, Python, and FAST application programming interface framework
- Expertise in using ANSI SQL, T-SQL, and PL-SQL for data manipulation and querying
- Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills for backend applications
- Familiarity with building and managing DevOps pipelines (a plus)

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to understand and manage complex systems, including their interactions with upstream and downstream systems
- Proven problem-solving capabilities in identifying and addressing backend application challenges
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, effectively managing multiple projects at once
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks as needed
Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $85,000 to $120,750. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
