Overview

As an Associate Index Trader within our Global Markets division, you will work alongside a Senior trader in providing funding solutions and market access to clients through Total Return Swaps, bond forwards, and synthetic financing structures. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in market-making, risk management, and execution strategies across index-linked products such as ETFs, futures, and cash bonds. You will assist in trade execution, position management, market analysis, and process optimization while developing a deep understanding of fixed income markets, client flows, and trading strategies. You will be working closely with senior traders, sales, structuring, and various support functions to enhance Deutsche Bank's synthetic funding capabilities.

What You'll Do

• Risk Management: Actively manage market and counterparty risk in the trading book, ensuring adherence to risk limits and escalation protocols

• Profit & Loss (P&L) and Risk Reconciliation: Oversee daily P&L attribution, risk reports, and balance sheet management

• Trade Execution and Market Making: Support the senior trader in pricing and executing trades, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing

• Internal Collaboration: Work with technology, operations, finance, risk management, and compliance teams to improve infrastructure, automation, and operational efficiencies

• Optimization: Help drive the desk's transition towards a more strategic and scalable trading platform, identifying inefficiencies and implementing enhancements

Skills You'll Need

• Strong understanding of fixed income markets, ETFs, and index methodologies

• Proficiency in Excel (including Visual Basic for Applications), Python or Structured Query Language, or other analytics tools for risk analysis and automation

• Advance analytical and numerical competency

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks

• Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships

• Required licensing and registrations as applicable

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $135K - $175K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
