The Technical Trainer plays a vital role within the US organization, serving as a key interface with the global training team and resources. This position is responsible for developing and implementing US-based training programs for the GE Wind Turbine platform, as well as other technical and regulatory training needs. The Technical Trainer will lead efforts in creating training modules, job performance measures (JPMs), and systems for assessing technical expertise and competencies, with progress tracked in the company's Learning Management System (LMS).
This role requires developing new course content or modifying existing DWT GE Wind Turbine course content while also supporting Operations and Quality functions. Extensive travel is required to meet training and operational demands. The Technical Trainer will oversee several programs, including the Technical Training Program, Employee Development Program, New Hire Orientation, Advanced Rescue Training Program, and the federally registered Apprentice Program. Additionally, the trainer will lead the company's Platform Training Program.

Are You Looking To
- Lead and manage the Technical Training Program, Employee Development Program, and other key training initiatives?
- Develop and organize training content, including GE Wind Turbine training modules, JPMs, approach distance cards, multimedia visual aids, and other materials?
- Plan and deliver staff development programs using effective methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, and workshops?
- Perform skills assessments for new hires and develop curriculum tailored to technician career progression?
- Create and implement testing and evaluation procedures to ensure competency?
- Support and develop internal rope rescue and advanced rescue training programs.
- Collaborate with the Global Training Team, EHS Department, and Quality Department to promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement in training courses.
- Manage program budgets, including preparation, tracking, and reporting actual versus budgeted expenditures.
- Provide on-site training and support at remote worksite locations.
- Offer interim support for Operations and Quality functions, including site setup, QC checks, audits, and document generation.
- High school diploma required; a college degree in a relevant field is preferred
- 5 years in a similar role or a combination of knowledge and experience with training programs in the wind industry
- Valid driver’s license (NON-CDL or CDL)
- GE Technical Trainer or Advanced Level Site Technician experience
- Expertise in Electrical Theory and Hydraulic Theory
- Proficiency in Basic and Advanced Troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Basic and Advanced Turbine Operations
- Strong proficiency in MS Office products (Word and Excel)
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
- The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus because of potential work in close confines.
- Employees must be physically fit enough to freely climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25 lbs. of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Must be capable of rescuing team mates anywhere in tower in the event of emergency.

To help ensure their safety, any employees climbing a wind turbine must use a Personal Fall Arrest System, and may not exceed the system’s maximum weight capacity of 309 lbs. This weight must include the individual, their tooling, uniform, and personal protective equipment. Based on these safety requirements and the standard weight of equipment, employees who climb wind turbines may not exceed a maximum personal body weight of 260 lbs.
