We're looking for a highly skilled Database Administrator to design, optimize, and manage our database systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PostgreSQL and a passion for performance tuning and scalability. Experience with AWS RDS and AWS DMS is highly desirable, while familiarity with AWS data processing services like Kinesis, EventBridge, Athena, Glue, and Firehose is a plus. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, taking initiative in undefined spaces, and working with a collaborative, high-performing team.

Clearance : U .S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to receive and maintain a public trust. Current DHS public trust preferred or DOD top secret with a current BI within the last 3 years.

What you'll be doing :

• Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
• Perform query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning to enhance database efficiency.
• Manage database monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
• Work with AWS RDS for database deployment, maintenance, and automation.
• Utilize AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for database migration and replication.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement best practices for data modeling, schema design, and ETL processes.
• Nice to have) Work with AWS data services such as Kinesis, EventBridge, Athena, Glue, and Firehose to support data processing and analytics.
• Develop and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for mission-critical systems.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and governance following industry standards.

Our estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000. This presented salary range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The offered salary is based on education, experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements appropriate to the role.
