Position Description

CGI has an opportunity for an Azure Infrastructure Specialist to join a team who provide a client-side technical support service, providing a broad range of technical and consulting skills. You would work on projects supporting our clients design and delivery of projects and programmes.
The Azure Infrastructure Specialist role will involve providing insight as part of a wider team, acting as an 'Technology Consultant' to the client’s delivery team throughout the engineering lifecycle. The Azure Specialist will be expected to lead and facilitate technical engagement meetings with a range of stakeholders, including those from supply-side vendors, and the user community. Technical guidance is integral to our client's ability to ensure compliance with the requirement to promote best practice and conduct detailed reviews of the solution/service design.
Due to the secure nature of the programme/role, you will need to hold the highest level of UK Security Clearance, or be eligible to go through National Security Vetting to obtain this clearance
Your future duties and responsibilities
The Azure Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for the following activities:
- Providing SME insight and an understanding of the technical requirement and business needs
- Providing technical assurance through the development of the service/solution.
- Lead and support technical engagement meetings, ensure compliance, promote best practice, and conduct detailed reviews of the proposed design.
- ICT and ITSM delivery in the Defence Sector
- Experience of working in a secure Digital environment is strongly preferred, ideally having also spent time in roles providing advice and support to client teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The ideal candidate for this Azure Infrastructure Specialist role will have attributes in the following areas:
- Hold a minimum SC clearance and be willing to complete HLC Clearance
- Have previous experience in the Defence sector, with proven experience working with secure systems, and a strong understanding of policies and governance
- Proven track record in the design, implementation and delivery of complex ICT delivery projects
- Previous track record in systems engineering and system accreditation in Defence, for systems at AS and S
The Azure Infrastructure Specialist will be working with the following technologies, previous hands-on experience is desirable:
- Windows and Linux
- Azure Stack Hub and Azure Cloud
- Rocky Linux 8.5
- Windows 2019, 2022
