Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Telecommunicator to join our team. The Telecommunicator will be responsible for handling emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate personnel, and providing critical support during high-stress situations.
Duties
- Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls
- Gather accurate information from callers to assess the situation
- Dispatch emergency response teams as needed
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers for medical emergencies
- Utilize GPS and GIS systems to determine locations accurately
- Maintain clear and professional communication with callers and emergency responders
- Use medical terminology for effective phone triage
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Employ conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations
Qualifications
- Certificate in Dispatching or related field preferred
- Proficient in phone etiquette and effective communication
- Familiarity with GPS systems for location tracking
- Knowledge of medical terminology for emergency situations is a plus
- Ability to negotiate and make quick decisions under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with diverse individuals
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
