Job Overview
As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating logistics and ensuring the efficient movement of freight. You will be responsible for communicating with drivers, managing fleet operations, and utilizing various systems to track shipments.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments with a focus on timeliness and efficiency
- Communicate effectively with drivers, providing necessary instructions and updates
- Utilize logistics software such as AS400, GIS, and other tools to track shipments and manage routes
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to update shipment information
- Monitor and manage fleet operations to ensure optimal performance
- Provide exceptional phone etiquette when interacting with drivers and internal teams
Experience
- Prior experience in a dispatching role within the logistics industry is preferred
- Familiarity with 3PL operations and freight management practices is a plus
- Proficiency in using AS400, GIS, and other relevant logistics software
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with drivers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing priorities
- Knowledge of phone systems used in dispatching operations
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
