We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role involves both routine cleaning tasks and specialized maintenance duties, making it essential for candidates to possess a diverse skill set in commercial cleaning and facilities maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas.
- Maintain floors through buffing and other floor care techniques to ensure they are clean and presentable.
- Conduct industrial cleaning as needed, adhering to safety protocols and standards.
- Assist with custodial duties such as emptying trash bins, sanitizing restrooms, and replenishing supplies.
- Carry out porter responsibilities, including moving furniture or equipment as required.
- Respond promptly to requests for cleaning or maintenance from staff or management.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Participate in periodic deep-cleaning projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services preferred.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques, including buffing and maintenance of various flooring types.
- Basic knowledge of residential painting is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capability to manage time effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
