Job description:
- Stocking consumables
- Printing labels
- Running samples, supplies, and waste back and forth between the Animal and Plant buildings
- Making aliquots of reagents for testing
- Tracking, assembling, and shipping sampling kits
- Creating/updating freezer inventories
- Labelling and organizing samples before testing.
- Putting samples and reagents away after testing is complete
- Invoicing for supply cost reimbursement
- Simple sample processing including adding media to tubes and centrifuging samples
- Long term storage of clinical samples
- Creating worksheets and setting up runs on thermal cyclers
- Complex sample processing including tissue and semen
- Setting up washes and King Fisher Flex for extraction or performing manual spin column nucleic acid extraction
- Making master mix for PCR
- Loading extraction plates
- Running the QI Axcel or gel electrophoresis
- Performing conventional and real-time PCRs
- Helping with Sanger sequencing prep
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
