Traffic Control Center Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Traffic Controller to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the transportation and movement of freight, ensuring efficient operations while maintaining safety and compliance standards. This role requires effective communication skills and a strong understanding of transportation management systems to optimize fleet performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the daily operations of freight transportation, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Utilize Oracle Transportation Management and other Transportation Management Systems to monitor shipments and manage logistics effectively.
• Oversee fleet management activities, including vehicle maintenance schedules and driver assignments.
• Communicate with drivers, clients, and vendors to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any issues that arise.
• Analyze transportation data using GPS tracking systems to improve route efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including freight documentation and compliance reports.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline logistics processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Utilize software such as SyteLine and AS400 for data entry, reporting, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics or transportation management is preferred.
• Familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management, Fleet Management, or other Transportation Management Systems is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and external partners.
• Knowledge of freight operations, logistics processes, and industry regulations is a plus.
• Proficient in using GPS technology for tracking shipments and optimizing routes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
