Family Nurse Practitioner / (Part time basis)

Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans. Shift

Part-time basis Schedule is 4 five-hour shifts/week (no evenings, weekends, or holidays).

Responsibilities : Nurse Practitioner Duties

• Monitors progress of and intervenes in the course of chronic illnesses, using ODRC policies and protocols for guidance
• Inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases & prescribes medications or administers treatment of acute and chronically ill patients & performs minor surgery as training & competency allows Performs routine physical exams of patients to determine control or status of chronic conditions & diagnoses new conditions
• Evaluates patients for the necessity of specialty referral consultations inside or outside the institution & reviews said consult reports for the recommendations, approving or disapproving accordingly
• Orders & reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray, & other diagnostic testing as appropriate
• With the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), facilitates the completion of medical reclassification & requests for non-formulary medications as necessary
• Performs routine & emergency medical care of patients as scheduled
• Examines, diagnoses & treats patients within scope of practice, as identified by the State of Ohio Nursing Board, as applicable
• Conducts rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO
• Writes up medical information gathered during patient interviews according to ODRC Office of Correctional Healthcare guidelines, policies, protocols & related American Correctional Association standards currently in practice, documenting all assessments & diagnostic impressions, as well as any other treatment plans & follow-up parameters Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accept suggestions, redirection, and guidance

Skills

• Strong knowledge of utilization management principles.
• Proficient in pain management techniques and strategies.
• Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
• Experience with dermal fillers and botulinum toxin treatments is preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and test interpretation.
• Understanding of ophthalmology practices is a plus.
• Competence in acute pain management protocols.
• Ability to provide compassionate infant care when necessary.
• Knowledge of dialysis procedures is advantageous.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $68.00 - $85.00 per hour
