We're looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Bellevue, WA!

 

The Human Resource function’s mission includes developing and executing talent strategies and practices that support business objectives, addressing performance gaps, strengthening the company’s core capabilities, ensuring compliance and managing risk.  The main focus of work involves performance management and enhancement, engagement and retention, leadership assessment and development and human capital-related operational excellence. As a key member of the team, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides HR partnership and guidance to leadership and employees with the goal of helping to raise both manager and employee capability and effectiveness.

Pay Details: $90,000-$120,000/year

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

General Partnership, Thought Leadership and Guidance

 

  • Provides primary support and partnership to leaders to ensure maximum productivity, engagement, retention and operational discipline against key human capital metrics.

  • Understands key business/performance metrics and provides partnership, thought leadership and guidance within that context.

  • Identifies general trends, concerns and location-specific issues and partners with leadership and other stakeholders on the appropriate solution.

  • Maintains a philosophy consistent with the company’s values and objectivity in balancing the interests of all stakeholders and being an advocate and advisor for all.

 

Performance Management

  • Operates as a thought leader on evolving methodology to better manage employee performance and, working with the appropriate stakeholders, partners on the design and delivery of new systems.

  • Supports the annual performance review process.

  • Partners with managers to address specific performance issues.

 

 

Engagement and Retention

  • Works closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, positively impact morale and increase productivity/retention.

  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze data and makes applicable recommendations.

 

Talent Management, Development and Acquisition

  • In partnership with the appropriate stakeholders, and using the existing competency framework, maintains an accurate assessment of key leadership.

  • Partners with appropriate stakeholders to assess and recommend internal candidates for leadership and development programs.

  • Partners with the recruiting team to assist in assessing both internal and external talent for open positions as needed.

  • Coaches managers/leaders.

 

Employee Relations

  • Provides general support to all employees involving problems in the workplace.

  • Provides partnership and guidance to managers with respect to coaching, counseling and disciplinary action.

  • Leads conflict resolution efforts to resolve work-related issues, providing guidance and final recommendations for action.

  • Responds to formal complaints and leads investigatory proceedings and conclusions regarding the issues raised.

  • Reviews involuntary terminations in accordance with the company’s established processes to ensure consistency and lawful practices.

 

Employment Law and Policies/Procedures

  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable employment law.

  • Represents the company in unemployment and other claims as necessary.

  • Ensures consistency of administration and assists in updates and development of new policies and procedures.

  • Partners with appropriate stakeholders to communicate various policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.

 

Other

  • Support oversight of the HR shared email inbox by responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.

  • Evaluates/manages leave of absence requests in conjunction with HR leadership.

  • Assists with the company’s safety program administration as appropriate, including coordinating with the third-party workers compensation administrator as needed.

  • Leads specific initiatives, as assigned.

 

Qualifications


Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or other related field.

  • PHR, SPHR or CPHR certification strongly preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years of HR generalist, partner or employee relations experience – ideally in a multi-unit environment.

  • Property management industry experience a plus.

  • Must be willing to travel to the company’s properties located in Puget Sound and, occasionally, outside of Washington State.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Successful completion of background check and drug screen required.

  • Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. meeting I-9 guidelines.
