Construction Project Estimator

The Construction Project Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for multifamily residential construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and develop cost estimates for materials, labor, and other project expenses.

• Prepare written scopes of work by reviewing projects, breaking subsections out by division, and writing scopes to propose for bids.
• Minimize scope gaps and overlaps, in estimated budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications for commercial multifamily and residential construction projects, which may include retail space.
• Gather and analyze information from project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project costs.
• Consult with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and clarify project details.
• Participate in the bidding process and negotiate contracts with subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate records of cost estimates and bids.
• Resolve cost differences by analyzing and collecting information related to each geographic locations property type.
• Draft and present budgets, reports, and project plans to team and other relevant stakeholders.
• Develop bids for construction projects.
• Navigate and understands building codes.
• Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction processes and regulatory standards.

• Experience in building and using complex financial models.
• Understanding of general accounting principles, financial statements, and budgets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.

• Ability to navigate specifications and plans.
• Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously and with accuracy.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field desired.
• 5 years of experience as a project estimator in commercial construction industry with multifamily experience strongly desired.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
• Familiarity with construction materials, labor costs, and industry pricing trends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Successful completion of background check and drug screen is required.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English in a manner sufficient to carry out the duties.
• Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. meeting I-9 guidelines.
