Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, verify, and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies for inpatient and outpatient needs.
- Provide drug information and guidance to healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
- Monitor medication therapies for safety and efficacy, addressing potential interactions or contraindications.
- Maintain accurate records for all prescriptions and inventory management.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with all New York State (NYS) regulations and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and training programs.
- Education/Certification:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) required.
- Must be a Registered Pharmacist licensed in New York State (NYS).
- Experience:
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in computer systems and software is preferred.
- Primary Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
- Secondary Shifts: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
