JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Business Liaison will support the Next Move NY initiative, ensuring its successful implementation and operation. This role is responsible for building and maintaining the pipeline between transitioning soldiers and spouses, and regional employers across all seven North Country counties. Key responsibilities include connecting transitioning soldiers and spouses to meaningful employment opportunities, and providing connections to training resources, apprenticeship programs, and educational opportunities facilitating job placements. The Regional Business Liaison will collaborate with regional employers to understand workforce needs and promote incentive programs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Connect with transitioning soldiers and spouses to identify training resources, apprenticeship programs, and job opportunities.
- Facilitate soldier visitation trips to regional employers to explore job opportunities.
- Collaborate with regional employers to understand their workforce needs and facilitate job placements.
- Promote the Soldier Recruitment and Training Incentive Program and Veteran Ambassadors Program to regional employers.
- Support the efforts of the Program Administrator and Program Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):
- Knowledge of workforce development, military transition programs, and veteran employment issues.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in project management and event coordination.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Understanding of apprenticeship programs and training resources.
EDUCATION: Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Relevant certifications in program management or related areas are advantageous.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in business development, workforce development, or a related field. Experience working with military personnel, veterans, or military spouses is highly desirable.

MINIMUM DRIVER'S LICENSE: Class D NYS regular operator
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent travel (66%) within the North Country region, including frequent trips to Fort Drum and Satellite Transition Center offices, is required.
TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE: Regularly works Monday through Friday during normal business hours, with flexibility required to attend occasional evening meetings or events.
ENVIRONMENTAL: Typical office environment where employee is protected from weather conditions or contaminants.
