Overview
The Survey Director is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and oversight of survey activities within the USAID Research and Development Activity portfolio. This role ensures that survey methodologies are robust, data collection processes are effective, and results are accurate and reliable. The Survey Director will also play a critical role in training field staff, performing statistical analyses, and preparing reports for dissemination. Position is contingent upon award and client approval.
Data Collection Management: Oversee data collection processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of collected data. Train and supervise field staff and enumerators to ensure adherence to survey protocols and quality standards and coordinate with local partners and stakeholders to facilitate data collection activities.
Statistical Analysis and Reporting: Perform statistical analyses on survey data to generate actionable insights. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for dissemination to USAID and other stakeholders and ensure that all survey findings are documented and accessible for further analysis and review.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance protocols to maintain high standards in all survey activities and continuously innovate and improve survey methodologies and data collection techniques.
Training and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training programs for field staff and partners to enhance their capabilities in survey implementation and data management and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the survey team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Years of Experience: 7 years of experience
Degree: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Sociology, Public Health or a related field.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools and strong knowledge of survey methodologies and statistical analysis.
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Leadership Skills: Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work effectively in diverse international contexts.
- Masters Degree in Statistics, Sociology, Public Health or other related field.
- Experience working on USAID-funded projects.
- Familiarity with USAID policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Relevant certification in survey methodologies or statistical analysis are a plus.
Location: Remote, will be required to travel to the DC area and other locations upon request.
