DDI’s Self-Directed team is growing! Our Fiscal Intermediary Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for families and support staff working through OPWDD’s Self-Directed Services. Our FI Coordinators are responsible for supporting families, brokers and employees in all aspects of hiring, training, family budgets and care management plans. This position is eligible for hybrid work (three days in our Smithtown office and two remote days) after the introductory period. This position is eligible for our robust employee benefits package and includes 20 vacation days, 3 personal days, 3 floating holidays, 12 sick days and 10 paid Agency holidays throughout the year.

Responsibilities
- To ensure Medicaid billing standards are met through review of service delivery documentation to confirm OPWDD regulations.
- Maintains copies of plans, budgets and all components of the individual service records and documents supporting billing.
- Conducts the initial Self-Directed launch meetings as well as participants in the Life Plan meetings regarding the budget, Fiscal Intermediary (FI), and Broker duties as well as ensuring that the Self-Directed costs remain within approved budget.
- Review employee time-sheets, monthly summary notes, mileage and expense reimbursements forms and all other documentation to the Financial Management Service Agency.
- Providing orientation, supervision and support to the Self-Directed Broker in the area of staff hiring, staff management and staff conflict resolution.
- Ensuring and maintaining that the Self-Directed Broker completes the required twelve hours of professional development training each calendar year after the first year of brokerage through OPWDD.
- Works very closely with the individual, his/her circle of support, support broker, OPWDD, support staff, and Care Manager in assisting with any questions concerning FI services.
- Job responsibilities are not limited to above and may be altered or redefined as required for consumer’s or agency’s needs.
- Bachelor's in a Human Services field preferred
- One year experience as Self-Directed Broker/FI Coordinator or two years case management/ program management experience
- Working knowledge of self-direction as well as OPWDD services and supports
- Valid NYS Driver License
- Ability to navigate computers and programs
- Good organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
