Your Impact:
As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities to support their goals, independence, and well-being. Your role is essential in creating an environment where every person feels valued and respected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living skills such as personal care, cooking, and housekeeping, and hygiene tasks.
- Support participation in community activities and recreational programs.
- Foster skill-building and encourage independence.
- Administer medications (training provided) and maintain health and safety standards.
- Document daily activities, progress, and any incidents as required.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team to provide consistent, person-centered care.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required).
- 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a caregiving role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Patience, compassion, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Ability to complete and maintain required certifications, including CPR, First Aid, and medication administration (training provided).
- Physical ability to assist individuals with mobility, transfers, and other physical activities as needed.
