Job Title: Employment Specialist/Job Coach

Program: Adult Day Program
Location: Nassau and Suffolk County
Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. No weekends!

Pay: $17.80 - $21.36/hour

Your Role:
As a Job Coach, you will work closely with individuals to provide on-the-job support, coaching, and training. You’ll guide individuals through their workday, helping them develop essential job skills, and ensuring their success in maintaining long-term employment.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Provide on-the-job training and coaching to individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of work environments.

·       Assist with job readiness training, including resume building, interview preparation, and job search skills.

·       Work with individuals to develop and improve job-specific skills, productivity, and workplace behaviors.

·       Monitor progress, provide feedback, and adjust coaching strategies as needed to support success.

·       Collaborate with employers to create inclusive work environments and maintain positive working relationships.

·       Document progress and maintain records to track goals and outcomes for individuals.

·       Advocate for individuals and provide support to address any challenges or concerns.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience working with individuals with ID/DD
• Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and guidelines.
• Must have automobile, good driving record and approved to drive for DDI

·       Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
