We provide a variety of life spanning services and supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities supporting them to lead their best life.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Direct Support Coordinator at the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center, you'll serve as a key advocate and support system for individuals with developmental disabilities. In this role, you'll work one-on-one with people to help them achieve their personal goals and lead more independent lives.

Flexibility is essential, as each day may look different depending on the unique needs of the individuals you support. Your duties may include accompanying them to medical appointments, engaging in recreational activities, and monitoring their health and well-being. You'll also assist individuals living in their own apartments with tasks such as medication administration, household responsibilities, and providing basic first aid when needed.

Additional responsibilities include providing transportation, supporting life skills development, assisting with budgeting, and organizing enjoyable activities. Through your support, you'll help create a safe, empowering environment while promoting independence. You'll also be responsible for maintaining documentation and participating in team meetings as required and serving as an on call Coordinator to meet peoples needs 24/7.

To excel as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center, certain skills and qualifications are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, alongside a strong preference for at least two years of paid work or related volunteer experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. Familiarity with developing Individual Service and Support Plans, as well as conducting skills assessments, is a significant asset. Physical stamina is crucial, as you will need to safely stand, pivot, and move individuals weighing up to 75 pounds during transfers.

Basic computer proficiency and math skills are necessary for maintaining accurate documentation and reporting. Most importantly, a genuine heart for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities will help create meaningful connections and ensure the delivery of compassionate care.
