Responsible for the management and motivation of staff. Ensure invdividuals in residential services receive quality care, treatment, and community integration. Work with an ISP team which include State Coordinators, family members and guardians. Responsible for the implementation of service reviews; assessments; programs and monitoring; billing; staff scheduling and time monitoring. Works closely with Quality Assurance team to identify issues and develop strategies for improvement. Responsible for reporting all pertinent information/concerns to the Quality Assurance and Service Directors.
Areas of Responsibility:
Manage operations in areas of responsibility
- Hire, orient, train, and retain qualified and competent staff.
- Ensure and monitor quality assurance and documentation in the residences.
- Ensure medical and behavioral health needs of our individuals are met, including medication administration and documentation
- Counsel, develop, evaluate, and discipline (as appropriate) staff.
- Implement and enforce DDCN practices and procedures.
- Work cooperatively with the Administrative Team for the welfare and development of individuals receiving care.
- Keep Quality Assurance and Service Directors informed of significant and relevant information.
- Communicate weekly with guardians and or family members of individuals served.
- Communicate with schools, the state, and other members of the individual's team on an ongoing basis.
- Mentor the FLS and DSP, providing assistance as needed.
- Maintain residential schedule and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly integrity standards.
- Oversee the individual finances in homes.
- Ensure month end documentation and hours are complete and accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
- Participate in health and nutritional monitoring and development of programs and supports.
Ensure clients receive optimal service.
- Ensure individual needs are assessed; habilitation plans are implemented as designed.
- Ensure staff is using appropriate intervention strategies and positive reinforcement with individuals
- Participate in IPP and Intake meetings.
Other Responsibilities
- Complete and remain current on all required trainings.
- Active participant in administrative meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma required. Preferably with at least one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled populations or a human service field degree or specialized training. Ability to transport clients in your personal vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid Nebraska drivers license, and current automobile insurance. No record of abuse or neglect or police record of a felony. Must attend orientation and training. Ability to project a caring and professional manner with co-workers, clients and the general public. Be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to client rights. Have proven skills in communication, verbal, written, and listening; observation; and problem solving. Knowledge of human growth and behavior, time management skills, understanding of social systems and the ability to handle a variety of situations and individuals.
