PHP of Alabama in Wetumpka is searching for an LPN for a position caring for Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled individuals. This person is responsible for medication administration, treatments, and medical oversight for the clients.
They will provides nursing health care services to individuals according to policies and procedures and within the standards of the individual states Nurse Practice Act, ICF / DD and individual State Standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Assists in the implementation and continuing evaluation of each individual's Active Treatment Plan.
2. Participates in the ongoing communication process, verbal and written of individual health and health care intervention.
3. Maintains and assumes accountability for all scheduled and controlled substances as defined by facility policy and pharmacy regulations.
4. Maintains security and cleanliness of each medication room.
5. Assists in maintaining adequate drug and pharmaceutical stocks to provide continuity of medicine and Enteral feeding administration.
6. Transcribes physician's orders.
7. Assist in implementing training for personal hygiene, skin care, and self-medication programs.
8. Actively contributes as needed to employee in-services, training and education.
9. Attends scheduled training and in-services demonstrating learned competencies.
10. Completes internal monitoring tools as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
Current and valid LPN license to practice nursing in the state employed.
Minimum of one year experience. Experience in an ICF / DD preferred.
Must be CPR Certified.
Must possess a valid state driver's license with, an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to pass a criminal background screening and drug test.
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
