What are the responsibilities and job description for the FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST position at Developmental Educational Assistance Program?
The Developmental Educational Assistance Program (DEAP) is looking for a Family Support Specialist. This is a full-time position for our home visiting intervention program serving families who have children with developmental delays or disabilities. Excellent training will be provided. The area needing staff includes Forsyth, Hysham, Lame Deer, Colstrip but you could work from a home office and would be paid to travel to these areas. Work from home is possible based on location. Position can be based out of Billings, Hardin, Colstrip, Hysham, Forsyth, or Lame Deer Area. Duties : The Family Support Specialist uses a coaching model to support families in meeting goals they have set for their child, assesses child and family needs, maintains records, coordinates with professionals, and advocates for families. Qualifications : - Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required. - Experience or interest in developing and implementing skill development programs for children and families and helping them reach goals. - Knowledge of child development and behaviors. - Ability to focus on family as primary unit of service. - Ability to utilize structured interviewing skills. - Ability to cooperate and coordinate services with other community agencies and professionals. - Ability to work with other professionals in a team approach. - Ability to prepare and keep routine records and reports. - Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills. Hours : Full time. Flexible hours and travel to other towns in north-central Montana are required. Salary : Starting at $19.00 - $21.50 per hour based upon qualifications and experience.
