Developmental Pathways (DP) has an exciting opportunity for a Communications Manager in our Communications Department to oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of internal and external communications initiatives. This role is central to ensuring the smooth operation of the communications team and delivering impactful campaigns aligned with organizational goals. The Communications Manager will also supervise the Content Manager.

This role offers a 4-day, 40-hour workweek, Monday-Thursday, and includes the flexibility to work remotely, as well as the opportunity to collaborate in-person at our headquarters office in Aurora, CO, and/or at off-site locations.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related role, with a strong preference for nonprofit experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail
- 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing or mentoring team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creating compelling content and overseeing copyediting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and business-related communication tools, such as Canva, Hootsuite, and Constant Contact
- Valid Colorado motor vehicle license and proof of motor vehicle insurance
- Ability to meet our driving requirements - no suspensions/ no more than two tickets in the past three years
Upon request, qualifying need, and approval, driving requirements may be waived in lieu of reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Experience in communications strategy
- Experience working with SmartSheet and/or ZenDesk as project management and ticketing tools
- Working knowledge of the disability field, the community/resources, and the populations served
- Experience working in the healthcare and/or nonprofit sector
- Able to speak, write, and interpret fluently in English and Spanish
- Ability to complete all responsibilities in fluent language/s
- Support with written translation of internal documents for use by stakeholders, as appropriate
Additional Responsibilities
Team Operations and Leadership
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the communications team, ensuring effective workflows and resource allocation to meet deadlines and deliverables
- Serves as the primary point of contact for communications-related requests from other departments and manages the internal ticketing/request system
- Supervises direct report(s), guiding and assisting with content development, social media strategy, and campaign alignment
- Fosters and maintains an inclusive team with productive team cohesion and dynamics
- Coaches and mentors staff to improve the quality of work, bolster both hard and soft skills, and ensure alignment with agency vision and mission
- Monitors productivity and prioritizes work activities of supervised staff to ensure they are balanced, and individual requirements are met
- Evaluates performance of and provides feedback to subordinates through ongoing supervision and regular performance evaluations; meets established deadlines for completion of performance evaluations
- Ensures workloads are covered in the event of absenteeism and/or staff vacancies and monitors workloads, as appropriate
Project and Initiative Oversight
- Plans, organizes, and oversees communications projects, campaigns, and initiatives to achieve organizational objectives within timelines and budgets
- Develops and implements communication plans and timelines for key events, campaigns, and initiatives
- Oversees strategy of blog and social media content
- Leads and collaborates with others on all aspects of project management, with emphasis on stakeholder communication, resource availability, and impact to the community; effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, project leads, and key external partners to ensure the successful execution of communications initiatives
- Maintains quality control and brand consistency across all communications projects
Administrative and Data Management
- Organizes and schedules team meetings, prepares agendas, and documents detailed meeting minutes
- Analyzes data and develops reports to measure project performance, social and web analytics, and recommends improvements
