Developmental Pathways (DP) has an opportunity for a Data Analyst in our Information Technology (IT) department.
The Data Analyst role is a crucial and dynamic position within DP, providing an exciting opportunity to influence key decisions across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing large, complex datasets, providing actionable insights, and creating impactful visualizations that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. As a critical member of the Data and Development team, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into strategic information that empowers stakeholders at all levels. Your expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data modeling will be vital as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions.
This is a 40-hour per week, hybrid position, with the benefit of working remotely and in-person coming into our headquarters office in Aurora, CO and/or off-site locations
*Please note this is not a remote position, Colorado residency is required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related or business studies field and three (3) years of related experience
-
Or Associate’s degree and four (4) to six (6) years of related work experience
-
Or seven (7) years of related work experience

3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role
-
Advanced expertise and job experience in T-SQL, including strong skills in optimizing query performance through indexing, execution plan analysis, and query cost reduction. This role requires experience in writing, maintaining, and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and dynamic SQL for efficient data transformation and complex business logic. Proficiency in crafting complex queries, utilizing window functions, and implementing best practices for transaction management and error handling is essential

Strong Power BI proficiency and job experience: Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards that support team insights and decision-making. Competence with data modeling, DAX basics, and Power Query for data transformation

Familiarity with creating visually effective dashboards and optimizing reports for performance with moderate data volumes is preferred

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

Experience working with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis

Comprehensive understanding of data visualization principles and best practices, with a proven ability to design clear, engaging, and effective visual representations of data that communicate complex insights to a wide range of stakeholders

This role requires expertise in selecting appropriate chart types, designing intuitive dashboards, and ensuring that visualizations are both functional and easy to interpret. Familiarity with data visualization best practices and principles

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Experience with Azure DevOps Boards: Proficiency in using Azure Boards to track, manage, and analyze work items, sprints, and project progress. Familiarity with creating dashboards, generating insights from board data, and using custom queries to support team reporting and agile processes

Additional Responsibilities

Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data from a variety of internal and external sources. Use advanced data analysis techniques to identify key trends, patterns, and anomalies that support business objectives and strategic priorities

T-SQL: Crafting complex queries, utilizing window functions, and implementing best practices for transaction management and error handling is essential

Power BI Development: Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI to translate complex data into easily understandable insights.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into well-designed data-driven solutions

Data Modeling & Query Design: Design and implement data models and queries to support business intelligence and analytics reporting. Design and optimize SQL queries to efficiently extract, transform, and load (ETL) data into appropriate formats for analysis

Data Validation & Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data through rigorous validation and quality checks. Reconcile discrepancies between different data sources and ensure data correctness before generating reports or dashboards

Data Governance & Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, dashboards, and reporting processes to ensure transparency and support for future improvements

Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of data models, dashboards, and reports to ensure they are delivering the expected value to stakeholders. Proactively recommend and implement optimizations to improve speed, efficiency, and scalability
